はじめてのパンやさん

チーム パン セブンは はじめての しごとを もらいます。むらの おまつりに たべものを つくらなければ なりません。「ひゃくにんぶんの りょうりを つくってください」と イーストせんせいは いいます。

あきもちは うれしそうに てを あげます。「デザートを やります！マカロンと プリンを つくります！」

うどんは あたまを かかえます。「ひゃくにんぶん…ピザでは じかんが かかりすぎます。フォカッチャと ガーリックパンに しましょう。」

こめこは しんぱいです。「わたし…なにを つくれば いいでしょうか。」

キューパンが ささやきます。「あんパンは どう？みんな あまい パンが すきだよ。」

チームは よるまで じゅんびを します。あきもちは たまごを わり、バターを まぜます。うどんは ハーブを きって オリーブオイルを よういします。こめこは あんこを にて パンのこを こねます。

とつぜん だいどころの でんきが きえます。「オーブンが とまった！」と あきもちが さけびます。「マカロンが だめに なっちゃう！」

うどんは すぐに かがくの ほんを みます。「はっこうには おんどが ひつよう…そうだ！」

「みんな てを つなごう。はっこうの ちからを あわせれば、じぶんたちで あたためられるはずです！」

さんにんは てを つなぎます。こめこの キューパン、あきもちの イーストきん、うどんの こうじ。みんなの ちからが ひとつに なります。

だいどころ ぜんたいが あたたかく なります。パンが オーブンで ふくらみ、マカロンは きれいな あしが できて、フォカッチャは いい かおりを だします。

つぎの ひ、おまつりは だいせいこう です。みんなの りょうりは すぐに うれきれます。「こんなに おいしい パンは たべたことない！」と むらびとは よろこびます。

イーストせんせいは チームに ほほえみます。「みなさん よく できました。でも これは ほんとうの しごとの まえの じゅんびです。」

その とき、えんとつから くろい けむりが みえます…

English Translation

Episode 5: First Mission

Team Pan 7 receives their first job. They must make food for the village festival. “Please prepare food for 100 people,” says Master Yeast.

Akimochi raises her hand excitedly. “I’ll do desserts! I’ll make macarons and pudding!”

Udon holds his head. “100 portions… Pizza will take too long. Let’s make focaccia and garlic bread.”

Komeko is worried. “What… what should I make?”

Kyuu-pan whispers. “How about anpan? Everyone loves sweet bean bread.”

The team prepares until night. Akimochi cracks eggs and mixes butter. Udon chops herbs and prepares olive oil. Komeko simmers sweet beans and kneads dough.

Suddenly, the kitchen’s power goes out. “The oven stopped!” Akimochi cries. “The macarons will be ruined!”

Udon quickly checks his science book. “Fermentation needs temperature… that’s it!”

“Everyone, join hands. If we combine our fermentation powers, we should be able to create heat ourselves!”

The three join hands. Komeko’s Kyuu-pan, Akimochi’s yeast bacteria, Udon’s koji. Everyone’s power becomes one.

The whole kitchen becomes warm. The bread rises in the oven, the macarons form perfect feet, and the focaccia releases a wonderful aroma.

The next day, the festival is a huge success. All their food quickly sells out. “I’ve never had such delicious bread!” the villagers rejoice.

Master Yeast smiles at the team. “Everyone did very well. But this is just preparation, before your real mission.”

At that moment, black smoke can be seen rising from a chimney…
